ABSTRACT

Abstract #1

14″x 18″

oils on canvas

2017

This painting was made by getting the whole canvas painted and the flip-flopping my hand on the surface. The marks on the surface reminds me of microcosms. I like the monochromatic blue hue.

Abstract #2

30″x 36″

oils on canvas

2019

This painting came together in one night of painting. As the paint dried, I dabbed to push & pull the paint. As drying, the paints bled together to form what you see now.

Abstract #3

24″x 18″

oils on canvas

2020

This abstract painting invites the viewer to envision the object. Winding lines create an undefined image. The black and white colors chosen for the figure stand in sharp contrast to the fire-like background.

Abstract-Emerging Spirit

18″x 24″

Spirit faces and bodies created by scratching into the paint are the centerpieces for this abstraction. The layered background envelopes the spirits.

Abstract-Subconsciousness

24″x 30″

Line and color form the shapes within the painting of the inner consciousness. An abstract eye looks outward, representing the movement of thought from the subconscious into the conscious.

Abstract-Translucent

20″x 25″

The water-color-technique was created in oils by wetting the painted canvas and allowing the paints to blend as they dried.

Abstraction Profiles

44″x 31″

oils on canvas

2018

I painted on the frame that was already on the canvas. Vivid colors surround the abstract profiles within the painting. Brushstrokes are used to create movement emanating from the top right corner down to the bottom left corner of the picture.

Celestial Elephant

18″x 24″

oils on canvas

You don’t always know what is going to be the finished piece of art when you start. Sometimes you just go with an idea and see how it plays out.

Faces Hidden

Quick, Look

18″x 24″
